While doing this project, I have learned so much more about Greek mythology, and a lot about our Greek goddess, Athena. I have also learned a lot about other Greek gods and goddesses from watching the other group’s presentations. My group had made a plan to rehearse our script and make treats to share with the class during our presentation, and we followed through with that plan by spending lots of time practicing, and by baking our “timbits”. One struggle we encountered while baking was that our cake pop sticks were not working out, so we decided to solve that problem by turning our cake pops into balls of cake instead. Also, as I mentioned in my first blog entry, we had a problem with deciding on a slogan, but eventually we chose one that we thought worked well with our theme. We were successful with staying on top of things and managing our time wisely, which was great because we didn’t ever feel like we were behind or not able to finish on time. Overall, I very much enjoyed doing this project, I got to know the people who were in my group, and I learned so much more about Athena, and Greek mythology.
In our work with our election campaign assignment, I am learning many new things, and we’re having lots of successes, but we’re also encountering some problems. Our Greek goddess is Athena, and I have learned so much about her origins, her symbols, and her powers. We started off by splitting up the research, and finding many different sources. I worked on the biography/description, and I discovered multiple new and interesting facts about Athena. For example, she is the daughter of Metis and Zeus. We wrote down all of our research on the same document page and then we put it into script form, focusing on making it into proper paragraphs. After that, we split up the script into equal amounts so that all group members would say the same amount in the presentation. There were struggles when thinking of a slogan, but in the end we decided on “Be wise, choose Athena”, because she is the goddess of wisdom. Also, to make the presentation more enjoyable and as a promotional factor, we had the idea to make cake pops that look like olives, to suit the theme. My group is enjoying this project so far, and I have learned a lot of new information about Greek mythology.
